John Mateyko APMA®, WMCP™, RICP® is a highly respected Fiduciary Financial Planner and Managing Partner at IDEX Financial. John is an alumnus of Augustana College, graduating in 1998. He began his career in 1999 at Dean Witter in New York, launching himself into the financial world with strong momentum. Over the next several years, he continued developing his expertise with respected organizations including Atlas Securities, US Bancorp, Chase and Fifth Third Securities.

In 2010, John established IDEX Financial, selecting the iconic Zurich Towers in Schaumburg, Illinois as its home. His leadership positioned the company for long-term growth, which eventually led to an expansion into Atlanta, Georgia in 2018 and the formation of a prominent financial planning practice there.

John Mateyko is committed to ongoing professional growth. He is currently pursuing the CIMA certification through the Yale School of Management. His accomplishments also include earning the RICP® and WMCP™ designations from the American College of Financial Services, along with the APMA® designation from the College for Financial Planning.

Outside his financial career, John lives in the tranquil community of Serenbe in rural Georgia, a destination featured on the Today Show and known for its natural beauty. He founded the Serenbe Athletic Association in 2021, serving as Commissioner for its co-ed Chicago-style Softball and Kickball leagues. His involvement with youth athletics began much earlier, including coaching basketball in Schiller Park, Illinois between 2008 and 2013 and continuing similar work in Serenbe during 2020 and 2021.

John’s passion for the arts is equally noteworthy. He served as Christian Bale's part-time stand-in on the film sets of Batman Begins (2005) and Public Enemies (2009). Inspired by his love for theater and community enrichment, he launched the SMZ Community Theater Group. This organization has raised more than 451,000 dollars for Acton Academy in Serenbe. The group has produced and directed successful shows including The Trial of Ebenezer Scrooge (2021) and is preparing for It Is a Wonderful Life: A Live Radio Play scheduled for December 2023.

On a personal and family level, one of John’s most memorable moments was proposing to his wife Slavyana at the enchanting Neuschwanstein Castle in Germany. Their travels continued through the Amalfi Coast, Rome and Lake Como during their honeymoon. Their son Sasha enjoys summers at TASIS in Lugano, Switzerland.

John is also a devoted adventurer. He has scuba dived in destinations including the Philippines, Hawaii, Mexico, Costa Rica, Italy and Portugal. He has even explored the famous whale shark exhibit at the Georgia Aquarium. His adventurous achievements include contributing to a winning foredeck crew in the Midwinters San Francisco Bay Race and completing a thrilling bicycle ride down the Haleakala volcano in Maui.
