After graduating from Augustana College in 1998, John began his financial career with Dean Witter in New York City in 1999. Over the years, he gained valuable experience working with some of the nation’s most respected financial institutions including Atlas Securities, US Bancorp, Chase, and Fifth Third Securities.

In 2010, John founded IDEX Financial, headquartered in the iconic Zurich Towers of Schaumburg, Illinois. His entrepreneurial vision and commitment to excellence led to steady growth and in 2018 the firm expanded to Atlanta, Georgia, following the acquisition of a financial planning practice. This expansion laid the foundation for John Mateyko PeachCap IDEX, a trusted name in modern wealth management and fiduciary financial planning.

He holds multiple professional designations including the APMA® from the College for Financial Planning, the WMCP™ and RICP® from the American College of Financial Planning, and is currently pursuing the CIMA certification from the Yale School of Management.

John lives in Serenbe, Georgia, a beautiful and sustainable community recognized on the Today Show for its unique approach to art and nature. In 2021, he founded the Serenbe Athletic Association, where he continues to serve as Commissioner for the co-ed Chicago-style Softball and Kickball leagues.

He has also dedicated time to coaching youth basketball in Schiller Park, Illinois (2008–2013) and Serenbe (2020–2021), helping young athletes learn teamwork, focus, and leadership.

Outside of finance, John has a strong passion for the arts. He had the unique opportunity to serve as Christian Bale’s stand-in on the sets of Batman Begins (2005) and Public Enemies (2009). His appreciation for theatre later inspired him to create the SMZ Community Theater Group, a fundraising initiative that supports Acton Academy in Serenbe.

The group has raised $451,000 to date and has produced memorable plays such as The Trial of Ebenezer Scrooge (2021) and It’s a Wonderful Life: A Live Radio Play (2023). This creative involvement reflects the same dedication and passion that define John Mateyko PeachCap IDEX.

Family, Travel, and a Life of Adventure

John proposed to his wife Slavyana at the picturesque Neuschwanstein Castle in Germany. Their journey together has included a honeymoon on the Amalfi Coast, a babymoon in Rome and Lake Como, and cherished family time with their son Sasha, who attends summer camp at TASIS in Lugano, Switzerland.

John is also an avid adventurer and outdoor enthusiast. He has scuba dived in locations such as the Philippines, Hawaii, Mexico, Costa Rica, Italy, Portugal, and even inside the Georgia Aquarium’s whale shark exhibit. He was part of the winning foredeck crew in the Midwinters San Francisco Bay Race aboard the Beneteau 50 and once biked down the Haleakala volcano in Maui.
