A graduate of Augustana College, Class of 1998, John Mateyko Financial Advisor began his professional journey at Dean Witter in New York City in 1999. His career continued with roles at Atlas Securities, US Bancorp, Chase, and Fifth Third Securities — experiences that strengthened his deep understanding of wealth management, retirement planning, and investment strategy.

In 2010, John Mateyko Financial Advisor founded IDEX Financial, headquartered in the historic Zurich Towers in Schaumburg, Illinois. His leadership and forward-thinking approach led the firm to expand into Atlanta, Georgia in 2018 through the acquisition of an established financial planning practice, further solidifying the firm's long-term growth.

Dedicated to elevating his expertise, John Mateyko Financial Advisor is currently pursuing the CIMA® certification at the Yale School of Management. He has already earned respected credentials, including the RICP® and WMCP™ from The American College of Financial Services and the APMA® certification from the College for Financial Planning.

Beyond his financial career, John Mateyko Financial Advisor is deeply involved in community, athletics, creativity, and philanthropy. He resides in the nature-focused community of Serenbe, Georgia — a nationally recognized wellness village featured on the Today Show. There, he founded the Serenbe Athletic Association and served as Commissioner for co-ed Chicago-style Softball and Kickball leagues. His passion for youth leadership includes several years of coaching basketball both in Illinois and Georgia.

A uniquely creative side of John Mateyko Financial Advisor includes work as Christian Bale’s part-time stand-in during the filming of Batman Begins (2005) and Public Enemies (2009). This experience fueled his passion for performing arts, leading him to establish the SMZ Community Theater Group. Through this initiative, more than $451,000 has been raised to support Acton Academy in Serenbe. His recent directing experience includes The Trial of Ebenezer Scrooge (2021), with It’s a Wonderful Life: A Live Radio Play scheduled for December 2023.

Travel has also played a meaningful role in the life of John Mateyko Financial Advisor. He and his wife, Slavyana, were engaged at Neuschwanstein Castle in Germany and spent their honeymoon exploring the Amalfi Coast, Rome, and Lake Como. International travel remains part of their family lifestyle, including sending their son Sasha to TASIS summer programs in Switzerland.

As an outdoor adventurer, John Mateyko Financial Advisor has scuba-dived in destinations such as Hawaii, the Philippines, Mexico, Italy, Portugal, and Costa Rica — and even within the whale shark exhibit at the Georgia Aquarium. He has also raced aboard a Beneteau 50 in the Midwinters San Francisco Bay competition and completed the thrilling bike descent down Maui’s Haleakala volcano.
